Titanium Dioxide–Reduced Graphene Oxide Composites for Photocatalytic Degradation of Dyes in Water

Dye wastewater due to industrialization, urbanization and academic activities has become one of the most important environmental issues today. Photocatalytic degradation technology is considered as a promising for treating dye its advantages protection low energy consumption. Herein, titanium dioxide–reduced graphene oxide composites (TiO2-RGO) were prepared by one-step hydrothermal method degrade different dyes (methyl orange, methylene blue rhodamine B) in water. The structure morphology TiO2-RGO characterized using various technical approaches. effect on was accordance with first-order kinetic reaction. rate TiO2-6%RGO methyl orange at 15 min 1.67 times higher than that TiO2, strong electron transport ability excellent adsorption properties graphene. better performance fluorescent anionic azo dyes. Notably, photocatalysis 90 could reach 96.9%. Meanwhile, showed reusability, initial 93.2% maintained after five cycles solution. present work provides universal strategy designing efficient photocatalytic materials.
